65/365 A Birth

February4

I have recently started doing birth photography to capture some of the most intense emotions ever experienced in this life. When I no longer have young children, I will complete my degree in midwifery, but for now, this is how I work in the birth world.

I got a phone call on Tuesday night that it was time to head off to the birth center for another birth. Those phone make me really jittery and excited. Birth is SUCH a cool time in life, and it is such an amazing honor to get to be invited to be one of the honored few.

So, I got to attend a sweet birth of a good friend. There was no where else in the world I would have rather been.

Cyprus is still young enough, that he got to come with me. He ended up falling asleep in the Ergo for the entire time I was there. You can see his head sticking out in this photo.

The birth center is an old farmhouse out away from civilization. I snapped this photo quickly in one of the old, old mirrors while I was at the birth.

I actually really like the eerie quality to the out of focus photo with heavy blacks.
